Visit to winemakers in Georgia

Organic wine from Georgia
During my trip to georgia I got to know the famous georgian wine. Organic red wines and white wines are processed without chemical additives. The pressed grapes are fermented in amphorae made of clay. The amphorae are buried in the wine cellar so that the wine can ripen slowly at a constant temperature. The process takes six months. The wine is then bottled and ready for consumption. The remaining mash is processed into grappa.

Georgia is regarded as the country of origin of winegrowing with its own character, autochthonous grape varieties and a tradition dating back over 8,000 years. Out of 4,000 grape varieties worldwide, 500 come from Georgia.
